One of the types of therapy on offer at Wolfdale School is Dramatherapy. Dramatherapy is a creative psychotherapy used in the treatment of a variety of presenting issues including mental health, emotional well-being and factors associated with learning disability. Interventions draw from play-based, storytelling and theatrical based methods and its indirect approach offers clients a creative way of exploring their internal world and supporting their understanding of it. The intention of Dramatherapy is to support the client’s journey of integration of emotional health and well-being. To do this Dramatherapy assesses the impact of trauma, early attachment in light of learning disability, social and emotional issues, relational issues and other experiences that have a detrimental effect emotionally and psychologically with a view to facilitate potential positive change.
